ABOUT THE CHORALE:

The NJHSA Chorale is an auditioned choir of thirty-one home schooled high school students from the New York City area. Membership is based on musical ability, Christian character, and leadership. Throughout the year the group performs at schools, churches, music festivals, detention centers, nursing homes, inner city outreaches, and state and local events. They have been recognized for their contribution to the community and commitment to musical excellence.

The Chorale is an approved activity of the North Jersey Home Schoolers Association (NJHSA). For more information regarding NJHSA, please visit NJHSA.net.

OUR PURPOSE:

The purpose of the NJHSA Chorale is to strengthen believers and proclaim God’s love to a broken world. Though the themes of

our concerts may vary, the message remains the same: we have an all-powerful, faithful God who is worthy of our praise!

Our repertoire is carefully selected and includes songs from the classic tradition, great hymns of the faith, sacred and gospel arrangements, as well as international praise music (performed in costume with authentic instruments). Musical selections are interspersed with testimonies, drama, and scripture.

THE DIRECTOR:

Beth Prins received a B.M. in music from Houghton College and an M.A. in music from Westminister Choir College. She is a frequent adjudicator and consultant. Professional memberships include the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and Music Educators Association (MEA). An accomplished pianist, Mrs Prins has been featured at major concert halls throughout the tri-state area, including Carnegie Recital Hall, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, NYC. She currently directs the North Jersey Home Schoolers Association (NJHSA) choral program and maintains a piano studio in Hawthorne, NJ.
